Dear press, reviewers, bloggers, vloggers, and influencers,

The Pioneer tabletop roleplaying game Kickstarter campaign has entered its final hours, with less than a day to go before it closes. The project has done exceedingly well, blasting beyond €100,000 in funding.

As of this writing, it has unlocked not one, not two, but ten stretch goals, bringing this hard science fiction game far beyond its original scope.

Pioneer is written by veteran Traveller authors Chris Geffen and Geir Laneskpg, joined by software architect Dr. Sandy Antunes, whose space-science experience with NASA, the Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), and several universities has been integral to making Pioneer one of the most authentic space exploration TTRPGs ever, while still largely based on the much-beloved Traveller rules system.

The game takes space explorers beyond earth and into the Solar System – Moon outposts, asteroid belts, and even other planets – where every mission demands in-game scientific problem-solving, tight teamwork, quick thinking, and well-developed survival skills.
