Irish Mythology-Inspired Dark Fantasy Campaign Setting Unlocks Third Stretch Goal
To all journalists, critics, bloggers, vloggers, and influencers:
The Kickstarter campaign for Beyond the Woods, the fantasy tabletop roleplaying game setting based on Irish folklore and myth that already made quite a splash in its 5E iteration and will now be available in a Legend in the Mist version, has surpassed the €150,000 stretch goal, unlocking new content for backers and expanding the dark fantasy setting inspired by Irish mythology. Of course, we would love you all to report on this major milestone and hereby invite you to schedule interviews with the creators and/or apply for a review copy of the game.

The Kickstarter campaign will allow publisher Old Oak Games to adapt the acclaimed Beyond the Woods campaign setting to the more narrative-driven Mist Engine, bringing players into the haunted land of Tír Nascath, where the last bastion of mortalkind faces encroaching darkness, malicious fae trickery, and the unrelenting onslaught of the restless dead.
The backers of this campaign are now helping to bring the richly atmospheric RPG setting that melds the ancient myths and riveting legends of the Emerald Isle with the rich storytelling so indicative of the best dark fantasy out there.

Major Stretch Goals Unlocked
Now that more than 1,400 backers have joined together to surpass the €150,000 mark, the first four stretch goals have been unlocked, adding extremely uselful new content and amazing fresh initiatives for the game:
New Rote Spells: A collection of rote spells has been added for each of the new Ways of Magic in the Wanderer’s Handbook.
Otherworld Journeys: At €100,000, a collection of new Journeys was added for those foolish or brave enough to venture into Tír nAill — the Otherworld.
New Monster: Thanks to the campaign reaching the €150,000 mark, a new challenge will be added to the Lorekeeper’s Guide, featuring a monster from Irish folklore as voted by the community.
Still to come:
A New Bastion Type, including its own Theme Kit, Quest, and Challenge
Yet Another New Monster at the €250,000 mark
A New Adventure Scenario written by award-winning RPG designer Gareth Hanrahan
These additions expand the tools available to players and narrators, further deepening the mythic world of Tír Nascath.
